Japan: Children's Village Fukuoka to accommodate unaccompanied children

Over 100,000 children have been left homeless and thousands more have lost or been separated from their parents in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The Japanese Government have asked SOS Children’s Village Fukuoka, located in the south of the country, to care for as many vulnerable children as it can. We will offer a safe home for children for as long as they need it. Read more

Sudan: Children evacuated after rebels storm Village

Families at SOS Children's Village Malakal have been caught up in violent clashes between government troops and rebels in southern Sudan, with gunshots fired on the Village site. SOS families have been evacuated and although the fighting has now stopped, they will not return to the Village until it is completely safe to do so.

SOS Children receives $5M pledge from HSBC

HSBC have named SOS Children as a key partner for their Future First programme, pledging US$5M to tackle child poverty through education. Over the last four years, HSBC have supported 173 projects with SOS, and this additional investment will give even more children the chance of an education and a better future.

Haiti: A new school for children in Port-au-Prince

Eight brand new classrooms have been constructed for the additional 300 children who joined our SOS School Santo in Haiti following the earthquake last year. In an area where the majority of schools are too costly for most families, we are now providing a free education to over 800 pupils.

Give the gift of motherhood this Mother's Day - 3rd April

Worldwide, 5,200 SOS mothers provide love, care and attention for the 78,000 children living in our Children's Villages. This Mother's Day, instead of a traditional present, why not consider giving a gift that will help train SOS mothers to care for generations of children with no one else to turn to?

Shafqat Amanat Ali performs live in concert for SOS

The internationally acclaimed Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali will be visiting the UK on May 14th to perform exclusively for SOS Children in a concert at the London Marriot Hotel Grosvenor Square. The night will raise valuable funds for our projects in Pakistan. Read more
